Navy Records Society

Founded in 1893 to publish original materials on the history of the Royal Navy, the Navy Records Society was led by Professor Sir John Knox Laughton and Admiral Sir Cyprian Bridge. This combination of civilian and service personnel continues to this day to inform the Society’s direction and choice of publication. In recording the history of the Royal Navy it has few parallels.
