Detailed account of the fifty [already obsolete] destroyers supplied to the Royal Navy in exchange for overseas base leases. Collected from three distinct US classes, the refitted RN versions were known collectively as the 'Town'-class. Arguably the most famous was CAMPBELTOWN, expended during CHARIOT, the raid on St. Nazaire.
