8vo., First Edition, with portrait frontispiece, plates and illustrations in the text, half-title, title and following several leaves mildly spotted; bound in navy polished half calf BY FOYLE OF LONDON, blue cloth boards, upper board blocked with Ardingly College motto in gilt, back with raised bands, second compartment with red leather label lettered and ruled in gilt, all other compartments tooled in gilt, gilt top, marbled endpapers, uncut, boards lightly rubbed else a bright, firm copy.
The binding is signed on front free endpaper verso. This copy was awarded as Junior Carpentry Prize in 1939, signed by A.C. Blunt (master) and Ernest C. Crosse (headmaster 1933-1946).
