Sm. 8vo., First Edition thus, on laid paper, with a fine engraved portrait frontispiece in photogravure (original tissue guard present), title in red and black, and several decorations in the text, free endpapers mildly browned; original blue cloth, upper board and backstrip elaborately blocked and lettered in gilt to an art nouveau design, gilt top, uncut, ivory silk marker (detached at head) a very good, bright, clean copy.
Published in Dent's 'Lyric Poets' series, this is a typical Rhys brainchild combining fine paper, elegant typography and high production values. A stylish forerunner of the mighty Everyman's Library then waiting in the wings. Very scarce.
