4to., First Edition, with portrait frontispiece, 5 fine coloured plates, 11 monochrome plates and 22 maps (6 large and folding), front endpapers very lightly browned; original half morocco gilt, green cloth sides with regimental emblem in gilt, gilt back, gilt top, backstrip a little chafed at head else a near fine copy.
The coloured plates comprise three of uniforms, one of colours, one of Afghan flags. Includes the regiment's service in the Napoleonic Wars, Afghanistan, Burma, the Indian Mutiny, the Zulu War and the Boer War. SCARCE IN THIS CONDITION. Sutcliffe, p. 94; White, p.65.
