THIS COPY WAS FORMERLY OWNED BY ABLE SEAMAN F. WEBBER (L.R. III) WHO SERVED ABOARD HMS TYNEDALE DURING THE ACTION; HIS SIGNATURE APPEARS ON TWO BLANK PRELIMINARIES. He was subsequently Mentioned in Despatches (though apparently not for CHARIOT since he is not so listed). A notable copy of the first and still the best all-round account of Operation CHARIOT, the Combined Operations raid on St. Nazaire in 1942. Enser, p.392; Law 0475; Mulholland & Jordan L71.
