One of the world's oldest trademarks, 'Bibendum' (the 'Michelin Man') was created in 1898 by cartoonist Marius Rossillon ['O'Galop'] at the instigation of Andre Michelin. The figure's first mass appearance was on the company's famous poster of 1898 since when it has continued to represent the Michelin company in over 150 companies. This very scarce booklet was produced to mark the figure's twenty-fifth anniversary. Since text and captions are entirely in English (but printed in France) we assume that this is the English version of a French promotional publication. A RARE SURVIVAL.
