Charles Bartlett was a founder pilot of No. 5 Squadron RNAS in WWI and although a bomber pilot scored no fewer than eight aircraft kills on the Western Front. After WWII No. 5 Squadron was revived as 205 Squadron RAF flying Shackletons from Changi.
