One of the most detailed WWI British divisional histories, well illustrated with both photographs and maps. 'Those who served for any length of time in France will recall that the 47th Division always ranked very high among British troops' (Falls). The 47th was the first Territorial division to be engaged as a formation on the Western Front; it served at Festubert, Loos, the Somme, Messines, Cambrai and in the fiercest actions of 1918.
