A PRESENTATION COPY WITH THE AUTHOR'S HOLOGRAPH INSCRIPTION ON HALF-TITLE, AND ADDITIONAL LENGTHY SIGNED HOLOGRAPH INSCRIPTION BY ROY FARRAN ON TITLE. PRESENTED TO GERALD GREEN, THIS COPY IS ALMOST CERTAINLY UNIQUE. With a relevant cutting mounted on front paste-down. Challenor recounts his service with the SAS in Italy during WWII, during which he was decorated for bravery, followed by his chequered career in London's Metropolitan Police which culminated his being declared insane after the controversial 'Brick' case. Both inscriptions make clear the affection in which Farran holds Challenor; a fascinating if ultimately depressing story. MATERIAL SIGNED BY ROY FARRAN IS EXTREMELY SCARCE.
