8vo., First Edition, with a portrait frontispiece, 4 coloured plates, a full-page illustration and 5 maps (2 double-page) in the text, and a large folding coloured chart, some faint offsetting from fold-ins to free endpapers; original regimental green cloth, crest blocked in gilt on upper cover, gilt back, green top, a near fine copy in unclipped dustwrapper, the latter lightly browned and with minor loss (not affecting lettering) at head and tail of backstrip.
