Binding signed on front free endpaper versos. With nineteenth-century personal bookplate on front paste-downs. The fine frontispiece is by Bond after Jackson. Outstanding copy of this fascinating anecdotal survey of the London art world contemporaneous with Nollekens. Smith was Keeper of Prints and Drawings in the British Museum.
