The set comprises 'Culloden' (1961; first FS edition 1996), 'The Highland Clearances' (1963; first FS edition 2003), 'Glencoe' (1966; first FS edition 1996). Often termed the Fire and Sword trilogy, this is the author's masterly account of the key event of the Jacobite Rebellion and the destruction of the traditional clan system.
