The photograph depicts the Commanding Officer, Adjutant, Quartermaster and Non Commissioned Officers, Training Battalion, Coldstream Guards, Pirbright Camp, Surrey. It was taken in 1939 just before embarkation for France with the BEF. We are indebted to Graham Alcock (whose father and uncle appear in the picture) for contextual information. A SUPERB AND MOST UNUSUAL MOMENTO OF THE BATTALION IN WWII. EXTREMELY SCARCE.
