With relevant cutting mounted on front free endpaper verso. Probably the most detailed account of any St. John detachment in action, this scarce work is an outstanding contribution to the literature of Dorset in WWII. The author provides extensive and detailed accounts of personnel, organisation, structure, training, actions, rescues and so, together with an unusually high complement of scarce photographs, the majority published here for the first time. SCARCE; we can find no record of the main work (or its scarcer index; not present here) in any standard bibliography. Not recorded by Enser
