8vo., Sixth Impression, with map as frontispiece and full-page map in the text; olive cloth, upper board and backstrip lettered in green, a near fine copy in unclipped, lightly age-soiled dustwrapper, the latter with minor loss (affecting lettering) at tail of backstrip.
Published ten months after the first edition. This is one of the few accounts by a surviving glider pilot. Hagen flew on the Second Lift and fought right through, escaping by swimming the Rhine on the second Monday. Hagen's account has been many times reissued; later editions include illustratons by Deliss and a foreword by Browning. EARLY PRINTINGS ARE VERY SCARCE IN THIS CONDITION. Enser, p.51.
