8vo., Second and Best Edition, with an engraved frontispiece (mildly spotted and stained in blank margins; original tissue guard present), 5 engraved plates and an engraved plan (all original tissue guards present) and 35 illustrations in the text; strongly rebound in twentieth century cloth, gilt back, a very good, bright, clean copy.
With a neat contemporary inscription (possibly in the author's hand) 'To the Editor of the Worcestershire Guardian' on title. This is the finest history of the town, and a substantially revised and expanded version of the author's original version of 1834. In the rebinding two decorations, a pattern from an oak panel in the monastery (back cover) and the bell tower, spires and chapter arch (front cover) have necessarily been lost. Scarce. Anderson, p.306.
