The frontispiece (1750) is by George Vertue; the plates (one per book of the poem) by Francis Hayman engraved by Johann Sebastian Mueller. Complete with indexes (general; similes; verbal) and publisher's advertisement on final leaf verso of second volume. First published in 1749, Newton's famous edition augments the text of the second edition (1674) with extensive notes, annotation and indices, together with a 'Life' that remained prominent throughout the following century, and collected contextual comment from Addison, Barrow and Marvell.
