Detailed account of the 'Butcher of Amritsar', one of the most controversial of all British military commanders, remembered most often for the notorious Amritsar Massacre of 1919. In his earlier career, however, he was mentioned in despatches for his command of Seistan Force in WWI; shortly after Amritsar he was mentioned again for the relief of Thai by 45th Infantry Brigade during the Third Anglo-Afghan War. We have not seen for sale a copy of the original edition of this work for over twenty years. RARE.
