8vo., First Edition, with engraved frontispiece and title, 31 engraved plates, text framed within a series of repeating woodcut borders, frontispiece and title moderately spotted, some mild age-staining (mainly marginal) to a few leaves of text; original ribbed green cloth elaborately blocked in gilt, back in pictorial gilt extra, very neatly rebacked, old backstrip laid down, gilt top, yellow endpapers, uncut, a very good, bright, clean copy.
A classic of the genre. Chatto also authored 'Scenes and Recollections of Fly-Fishing in Northumberland, Cumberland and Westmoreland' and contributed to the Newcastle 'Garlands'.
