8vo., Eighth Edition, with 2 engraved plans (moderately foxed), endpapers mildly browned, some minor worming (mainly marginal and not materially affecting text) to last twenty or so leaves, neat contemporary inscription on front free endpaper verso facing title; contemporary full calf, back ruled in gilt, roan label lettered in gilt, covers moderately age-marked, a very good, remarkably clean, firm copy.
With twenty appendices and full general index. The appendices include numerous conversion tables, recipes and directions, catalogue of farming implements with prices, suggestions for a farmer's library, tables of old and new names for agricultural chemicals and preparations, and similar matter. First published in 1771, Young's 'Farmer's Calendar' was an immediate success, swiftly establishing itself as a standard reference.
