8vo., First Edition thus, with an engraved portrait frontispiece (mildly spotted and with light offsetting to title facing) and 4 engraved plates (spotted at blank margins); attractively bound in nineteenth century red full straight-grained roan, sides with gilt frame border, back with five flat gilt bands, second compartment lettered in gilt, gilt edges, gilt dentelles, laid marbled endpapers, covers lightly age-marked, backstrip a little faded (but all gilt just legible), boards and joints lightly rubbed else a very good, crisp, copy.
With 2pp publisher's advertisement at end. The frontispiece is engraved by Collyer after Burney. The Elegy includes, among the notes, some stanzas originally designed as part of the poem but omitted from the published version. Among the six poems addressed to, or written in memory of, Gray are four which appear here fore the first time. SCARCE. NCBEL II, p.577.
