First appearance in Rieu's renowned 'Penguin Classics' series, and first publication of Ellis-Fermor's new translation. The cover roundel is based on a photograph of the author. Ellis-Fermor was not happy that the portrait used was the best: 'I think there are phases of Ibsen's expression which, shall we say, represent the nature of his mind better than this one'.
