Sold from an institution with its tape-marks on covers, bookplate on front paste-downs and small blind stamp on titles. Wanting the frontispiece to volume five. 'A standard contemporary authority for detailed naval events of the period. Although criticised on the grounds of prejudice, still invaluable as a work of reference' (NMM).
