8vo., First Edition, on laid paper, with a coloured frontispiece (original captioned tissue guard present), 24 fine sepia-toned monochrome plates and patterned endpapers, some light spotting (mainly marginal), label removed from front paste-down with minor scar to patterned surface; original buckram blocked in red and gilt, bevelled edges, gilt back, gilt top, uncut, a very good, firm copy.
With the list of subscribers and 4pp publisher's catalogue bound in at end. As always with Bemrose's notable 'Memorials' series, this collection of twenty extended topographical essays was published by subscription. It includes contributions from many contemporary authorities including Ditchfield, Godwin, Keyser and Nisbett.
